First, in a 2006 Surgical Neurology study it was found that 59 percent of chronic pain sufferers could ELIMINATE the need for pain drugs when they consume adequate levels of omega-3 essential fatty acids because these help reduce inflammation.
What that means is – after eating more foods with omega-3 – like eggs, nuts, beans and seafood – 59% of people felt good enough or comfortable enough to the point where they weren’t dependent on their medication – simply because they reduced the amount of inflammation that was going on in their body.
Now keep in mind, doing this isn’t going to cure you of your fibromyalgia, sciatica, arthritis or any other chronic pain condition you may have been diagnosed with. But what’s important to understand is that – regardless of your condition – the more inflammation you have – the more pain you will have. Right?
So again – it’s not a cure – but this omega-3 trick actually works for a very simple reason – those omega-3s just reduce inflammation.
Here’s the other one I want to give you… in 2002 the Annuals of Pharmacology stated that chronic pain can be eliminated in some people just by removing aspartame and glutamate from their diet for 4 months!
That’s simple – the doctors doing the study found that those 2 ingredients cause so much inflammation around the body that by simply avoiding things like sugar-free gum, which commonly contain aspartame or fast foods, which commonly contain glutamate, people see a dramatic reduction in inflammation and as a result these people experience less pain and less often. Can you see that working for you?
Again – not cures – but 2 powerful medical examples that show how some of the things we eat can have an affect on inflammation. And inflammation is one of the major ways that your pain is triggered. Regardless of your condition – inflammation plays a big role.
Now those were just a few things on a longer list – but still good food for thought, right?
